The practice was founded in 1960 and has since expanded so that it now consists of four partners and twenty staff.We moved into our new purpose built building in 2012 and from this we aim to provide family medicine of the highest standards for the benefit of our patients.
As well as a source of information about our practice, the staff & the services we provide, we hope you use the website as a useful resource with links to other reliable websites for health related information. If there is topical health information we will also add this to the website.
Change to Services - updated 30/03/20
To minimise the spread of infection, the following changes to our services are being enforced:
The doors of Deal Tree Health Centre will only be open weekdays between the following times:
- For leaving sample bottles only: 1045-1100
- For Dispensary by appointment only: 1100-1300 and 1600-1800
Do NOT come to the surgery for any other reason.
Appointments & Queries
All appointments must be booked over the phone. You will not be able to book appointments online or in person at reception.
Please do NOT come to the surgery if you have any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, hoarse voice, nasal discharge, congestion, sneezing or other flu-like symptoms.
When booking over the phone it will be necessary for our receptionists to ask about your symptoms. You will then be booked in for telephone triage by a GP prior to them arranging for you to come to the surgery if necessary. If you do not disclose your symptoms to our receptionists, they will not be able to book you an appointment.
If your symptoms do not require urgent/on-the-day attention, please complete an e-consultation form using the following link: E-consultation. We aim to respond to these within 48 hours.
We understand that these measures will add to our call volume and ask for your patience and cooperation during this challenging time. As a surgery, we are striving to minimise the spread of infection for the benefit of patients, staff and wider community. Our clinicians are in daily contact with the groups that are most vulnerable to this virus, the sick and elderly, and regularly visit these in their own homes and care homes. By minimising the number of people visiting the surgery, we hope to prevent our doctors and nurses from having contact with the virus and in so doing protect themselves and their patients.
Please continue to submit your medication requests as usual (in writing, via online services or by email) up to 2 weeks before your medication is due to run out. Please allow a minimum of 5 working days for your prescription to be processed.
If you currently collect your prescription from Reception, you will now need to nominate a pharmacy. Please let us know of your choice when you next submit a request. Your prescriptions will then be sent directly to that pharmacy. Many pharmacies now also offer the option of home delivery.
From Monday 6th April, dispensing patients due to collect their medications will be allocated a specific collection time. Patients can expect to receive a text message (or telephone call) informing them of this.
Please ONLY attend the surgery at the time given to collect your medication.
All payments must be by card (preferably contactless) until further notice.
We have taken these measures in response to the progressing situation. We hope to reduce queuing and thereby further limit the risk of infection to both patients and staff.

How To Cancel An Appointment
- By text - reply 'Cancel' to you appointment confirmation text and it will be automatically cancelled from our system.
- By phone - call our reception team on 01277 821699.
- By email - email firstname.lastname@example.org and include your name, date of birth and appointment details.
